Towing Training for Camping Trailers, Caravans, Boats, Horse Floats
News and Info
After the launch of the new Hayman Reese dual cam anti sway weight distribution hitch, we tested it at Sandown Race track recently. During the testing, we did a number of laps both with and without the system in place, and to say that it will change the way we tow, is an understatement, this system is amazing. We were able to turn the car into the corners with greater confidence knowing that the Hayman Reese system was countering any moves the caravan may have done.
The beauty of this new system is that it is a preventative system not a reactive system. What this means is that once the system is installed correctly the van wants to track in a straight line, all the time, it will still allow you to corner and manoeuvre as normal, but the cams at the end of the torsion bars are continually trying re-centre themselves and therefore preventing any sway from starting.
Sadly I have heard of too many caravan related accidents of the Christmas - New Year break, and there are a lot of vehicle - van set ups out there which could benefit from a Weight distribution system or better still a dual cam anti sway system. It really is a small investment compared to the price of the van and vehicle, but some people just don't seem to want to invest in their own safety or the safety of those around them.
So do yourself a huge favour, go down and see your local Hayman Reese stockist and get one of these systems fitted, you too will be amazed at the difference it makes.
